Encouragement for those who feel like they are drowning. This was originally written to one of my adult kids in college and then shared with another adoptive mom.

Feel like you are drowning?

It’s up to you to grab hold of the life-saving tools already given to you in God’s word..

You already have multiple life jackets with you.

You have multiple arm floaties being offered to you.

You have multiple people screaming your name and Jesus’ name, looking at you from the boat they are in, begging you to grab hold of all the life-saving tools handed to you.

But you have to hold on.

Your want to has to be big enough.

You have to strap yourself into that life jacket and keep it on.

You have to reach out and grab hold of that rope.

You have to pull yourself up on that boat.

You have to dry yourself off from the water you almost drowned in.

You have to get back up and fight through this.

You have to want to change.

The good news is you don’t have to do it alone.

Call on the name of Jesus.

Jesus!

God is like the lifeguard racing towards you, blowing his whistle. He is bringing in the big boats, the helicopters, the rescue team, and is ready to lift you out of the water. He is jumping in the water with you, swimming towards you. He is placing that life jacket thrown to you around you tightly. He is calming the waters that you feel like you are drowning in. God wants to breathe life into your lungs. He is giving you CPR and breathing life into you again. He is pressing his hands on your chest, resuscitating you.

God is going to give you a new heart. A heart that beats with His.

All you gotta do is call His name.

Jesus.

Jesus.

He reached down from on high and took hold of me;

He drew me out of deep waters. Psalm 18:16

Let me know how I can pray for you. Are you an adoptive parent in the trenches?  Are you in orphan ministry and being attacked?  Reach out with your prayer requests so we can reach in those trenches and help pull you out and remind you that you are not alone.
